He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick McKenzie and Alma Hagerman McKenzie; and his brothers, Donald and David McKenzie. He is survived by: his wife Madeline Parker McKenzie; his daughters, Barbie Hollifield (Mark) of Bakersville and Jane Bennett (Jose); his grandchildren, Jessica Wustrow (Killian) of Spruce Pine and Ben Ryan Hollifield (Hailey) of Newland; his great grandchild Kieran Wustrow of Spruce Pine; and his caregiver Heather Hawkins.
