She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Arcemus Howell and Bonnie Renfro Howell; her husband James Reece Brinkley; and her siblings, Philip, Ward, Robert, Royce and Elizabeth "Lib" Sams.
She is survived by: her daughter Alicia Weeks (Patrick) of Raleigh, NC; her grandchildren, Morgan Best (Josh) of Cambridge, MA, Anna Quinlan (Robert) and Jared Weeks of Raleigh, NC; and her great grandchild Delaney Reece Best.
