He was predeceased by: his parents, Olen Dellinger and Eula Dellinger; and his son James Joseph (Jimmy Joe). He is survived by: his son Joshua Pennington; his grandson Justin; his daughter-in-law Shanda Dellinger; his grandchildren, Bethany, Hannah and Oliver of Morganton; his siblings, Gerald, Jimmy (Sara), Anna, Diane (Kenneth), Olena (Richard) and Melissa (James); and his aunt Lina (Ray). He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
