He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernie Staton and Edna McClellan Staton; and his wife Beulah Greene Staton. He is survived by: his siblings, Dorothy Jean Ollis, Russell and Ronald Staton; his sons, Richard Staton (Donna) of Spruce Pine and Brian Staton of Spruce Pine; his granddaughters, Stephanie Buchanan (Bradly) of Spruce Pine and Rachel LaPorte (Nathan) of Nashville, TN; his great grandchildren, Jade Buchanan and Rowan LaPorte; and his brother Ray Staton of Spruce Pine.
