She was predeceased by: her parents, William Buchanan and Rhetta Sparks Buchanan; and her husband Hoyle Abernathy. She is survived by: her siblings, Bill Buchanan, Dorothy Byrd, Edna Hall and Joyce Chambers; her children, Preston Abernathy (La'Wana) of Apopka, FL and Rhonda Albright of Greensboro, NC; her grandchildren, Karol Baker (Charlie), Nicole Farrell (Mark), Charlie Albright and Ben Albright; and her great grandchildren, Tori and Caleb.
