She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Gurley and Kate Stewart Gurley; her former husband John Tipton; her husband Homer Boone; and her siblings, Eugene, Daniel Gurley, Louise Burleson and Doris Burleson.
She is survived by: her daughter Selita Tipton of Spruce Pine; her stepchildren, Cindy Ponder (Charles) of Spruce Pine, David Boone of Bakersville and Tim Boone of Bakersville; and her nieces and nephews, Joyce, Terry, Linda Willis and Wanda Joyce Sams.
