It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Johnny Hollifield of Spruce Pine, North Carolina, who passed away on October 19, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Misher Hollifield and Glennie Buchanan Hollifield; his wife Mary Cook Hollifield; his son Victor Hollifield; his granddaughter Jennifer Wyatt; his brothers, Fred, Bill and Ray; his son Robert (Charles Hollifield); his sisters, Jewell Buchanan and Ruth Buchanan; and his siblings-in-law, Lee Buchanan (Betty) and Marie Cook.
He is survived by: his sons, Dana Hollifield (Valerie) of Spruce Pine, Van Hollifield (Leticia) of Spruce Pine and Mark Hollifield (Lorie) of Spruce Pine; his grandchildren, Jessica Hollifield, Justina Hollifield, Jacquline Wilburn (David), Misher Hollifield (Morgan), Bryant Hollifield (Theresa), Regan Mimken (Jesse), Seth Hollifield (Taylor) and Daniel Hollifield (Cassidy); his great grandchildren, Jacie Wyatt, Kaison Hollifield, Jordyn Smith, Corbin Mullinax, Kenedy Evans, Hendrix Mimken, Carolina Mimken, Everett Hollifield, Emma Hollifield, Jett Hollifield, Kai Hollifield, Roan Hollifield and Mila Hollifield; and his sister Betty Johnson (Bill) of Bakersville.
