It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jennie Cornett (Spruce Pine, North Carolina), who passed away on June 16, 2021, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, T. R. Burleson and Gwendolyn McKinney Burleson; her husband Herman Cornett, Sr.; her son Herman Cornett, Jr.; and her siblings, Russell Burleson, Mary Lou Napoli and Mabel Lee Haga.
She is survived by: her children, Barbara Murdock (Homer Murdock, Jr.) of Sparta, Gaynelle Geouge (David Geouge) of Bakersville and Alfred Cornett (June Cornett) of Bakersville; her grandchildren, Lee Murdock, Dee Whray, Laura Cole, John Geouge, Amy Cornett, Chris Cornett, Kelcie Cornett, Summer Calloway, Jordan McMahon, Peyton Cornett and Gabriel Cornett; and her siblings, Fred Burleson of Florida, Bob Burleson of Florida, Ted Burleson of Salisbury, NC, Julia Ellis (Johnny) of Florida, Angie Duncan (Dale) of Spruce Pine and Carolyn Burnette of Spruce Pine. She is also survived by several great grandchildren.
