He was predeceased by: his parent Woodrow Jennings; and his siblings, Nancy Pendley, Laura Hicks, Billy Beam, Kenneth Vaughn, Richard, Clyde and Clarence Phillips.
He is survived by: his parent Pearl Childers Vaughn; his children, Tracie Stapleton (Ernie) of Spruce Pine, Wesley Vaughn (Vonda) of Spruce Pine and Josh Vaughn (Jeanne) of Spruce Pine; his sister Martha Vaughn of Spruce Pine; his half-sisters, Mildred Huskins, Kate Beam of Spruce Pine and Betty Denton of Brevard; and his child Lillian Vaughn of Spruce Pine. He is also survived by six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and special nieces and nephews.
