It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hortense Biddix of Spruce Pine, North Carolina, who passed away on January 27, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John B. Burleson and Texie Queen Burleson; her husband Willard Biddix, Jr.; her siblings, Johnny, Calvin, Richard, Frank Burleson and Cynthia Spratt; her children, Manuel Biddix, Samuel Ray Biddix, George Hickey Biddix and Katherine Ann Hughes; and her children-in-law, Becky Biddix Hedrick and Gary Burleson.
She is survived by: her children, Nancy Jones (Bob) of Spruce Pine, Grace Spry of Marion, Laura Franklin (Dean) of Spruce Pine, Eyvette Burleson of Spruce Pine, Timothy Willard Biddix (Carolyn) of Nebo and Phillip Biddix (Jane) of Marion; and her brother Billy Joe Burleson of Spruce Pine. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and forty-six great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home (128 Roan Rd, Spruce Pine, NC 28777).
