She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Buchanan and Allie Buchanan of Spruce Pine. She is survived by: her husband Terry Zimmer of Greensboro, NC; her children, Sharon Colvard and Shannon Sowell (Robert); her grandchildren, Caroline, Cade Colvard, Parker and Harrison Sowell; her stepdaughter Angie Grevey; her children, Connor, Katie and Chase; her siblings, Brenda Callaway (Bill), Donnie Buchanan (Judy), Michael Buchanan and Keith Buchanan (Gail); and her sister-in-law Jodi Quinn.
In lieu of flowers donations in her honor can be made to either Planned Parenthood or Hospice of Greensboro.
