He is survived by: his wife Teresa Buchanan Gurley; his stepson Matt Hoyle of Asheville; his grandson Jacob Hoyle; and his siblings, Anita Buchanan, Wayne Gurley (Norma) of Burnsville and Darrell Gurley of Lexington.
