It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Calvin Baucom of Spruce Pine, North Carolina, who passed away on January 22, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Vatchel and Mary Nixon Baucom. He is survived by: his wife Doris Bost Baucom of Spruce Pine, NC; his brother William Charles Baucom of Pilot Mountain, NC; his children, Chris Baucom (Helen) of Clemmons, NC, Carol Baucom Houser (Craig) of Knoxville, TN and Chanon Baucom Landenberg (Robert) of Loudon, TN; his grandchildren, William, Katie, Sarah, Bobby and Jesse; his stepson Michael Teague (Nadine) of Spruce Pine, NC; and his stepgrandchildren, Tonya and Devin. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Calendar First Presbyterian Church of Spruce Pine (970 Greenwood Rd, Spruce Pine, NC 28777). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
