He was predeceased by: his parent David L. McKinney; and his son David Hunter McKinney. He is survived by: his parent Margaret Gaddy McKinney; his wife Louise McKinney; his siblings, Mike McKinney (Vanessa) of Maggie Valley, Daniel McKinney (Susie) of Spruce Pine, Rebecca Ann Teague (Bobby) of Spruce Pine and Julia Ollis (Ray) of Hickory; his stepsons, Ross Hunley of Marion and Ryan Hunley of Marion; his children, Andrew McKinney of Pennsylvania and Kaitlyn Lovelace of Spruce Pine; and his mother-in-law Eva Mae Hogan of Marion.
