He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carol Lusk Gunter of Spruce Pine and Ray Gunter; his brother Bobby Gunter; his spouse Carolyn Cresawn Gunter; his children, Kelly Gunter, Jean Gunter Clark, David Gunter, Julie Crisp and Scott Smith; and his siblings, Marie Gardner, Richard Gunter (Carolyn) and Steve Gunter.
