He was predeceased by: his parents, Lynn Goforth and Nellie Watson Goforth; his siblings, Eldon Goforth (Louise), Jennings Goforth (Doris), Tom Goforth (Mikel), Preston Goforth Sam (Vernice), Linton Goforth, Veta Griffith (Clyde), Una Richardson (Harry), Audrey Phillips (Tom), Frances McKinney and Lucy Ray; his niece Sherry Woods; and his great grandchildren, Kennedy and Kynnley Goforth.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Wise Goforth; his sons, Frankie Goforth (Kim) and Steve Goforth (Heather); his grandson Seth Goforth (Layken); his great grandchild Cole Justin Goforth; his nephew Tommy Goforth (Carol); and his siblings-in-law, June Goforth, Marvin McKinney and Al Ray.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Charles George VA Medical Center Hospice Center at 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805.
