He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack McKinney and Billie June Greene McKinney. He is survived by: his wife Ginger Young McKinney; his daughter Erica M. Ellis (Dylan) of Bakersville; his grandchildren, Zoey, Sawyer and Chad Young (Melanie); his great grandchildren, Adam, Sarah and Col. Don Vinson; and his daughter Marla.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Roan Mountain Baptist Church (37 Sandy Branch Rd, Bakersville, NC 28705). A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
