He was predeceased by: his parents, Green Pitman and Maggie Davis Pitman; and his siblings, Weldon, Andrew Pittman, Mary Sparks, Harriet Biddix, Lucy Dellinger and Lennie Mae Pittman.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Ayers Pittman; his sons, Greg Pittman (Cindy) of Thomasville, NC, Jeff Pittman (Crystal) of Greenwood, SC and Charles Pittman (Jennifer) of Spruce Pine; his grandchildren, Caleb Pittman (Ashley), Ayla Snead (Edward), Hunter Cornett (Kelcy), Savanah Wood (Jarod), Shelbey Pittman, Hunter Johnson and BJ Niven (Betsy); and his great grandchildren, Olivia, Noah, Lily, Kit, Harper, Anderson, Lizzy, Whitlee, Rosalie, Charlie, Indy, Scotlyn, Aubrey and Abbey.
