She was predeceased by: her parents, Pierce Howell and Venia Miller Howell; her husband Lawrence McCourry; her brothers, Warren, Raymond and Elmer; and her close friend Blanchard Garland.
She is survived by: her sisters, Jennie Bennett of Green Mountain, NC and Darlene Rudisill of Mount Holly, NC; her children, Debbie Peterson (Donald Peterson) of Green Mountain, Donna McCourry (Stacy Peterson) of Erwin, TN and Doug McCourry of Green Mountain; and her grandsons, Conner Miller and Riley McCourry.
