It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Avery D. Carpenter (Spruce Pine, North Carolina), who passed away on August 7, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Avery D. Carpenter and Nettie Huskins Carpenter Duncan; his stepfather Frank Duncan; his brother Hoyt Carpenter; his half-brother Jack Duncan; and his stepsiblings, Stanley, Dale Duncan, Velma Duncan, Bea Queen, Louise Mace and Myrtle Abernathy.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Queen Carpenter; his children, Steve Carpenter (Susie) of Spruce Pine and Judy Greer of Spruce Pine; his granddaughters, Vanessa Hawes (Dave), Elizabeth Patterson, Jennifer Gilley (Matthew) and Julie Greer; his great grandchildren, Owen and Avery Gilley; and his half-sister Peggy Hodge (Jerry). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
