She was predeceased by: her parents, Jeff Buchanan and Mae Cox Buchanan; her husband Glenn Gross; her sons, Phillip and Michael Gross; her children-in-law, Leslie Spears Gross and Seth Byrd; and her siblings, Milburn, Bill, Phillip, Jack, Jay, Gene, Jason Buchanan, Lucille Grindstaff and Elizabeth Burleson.
She is survived by: her children, Charles (Ruth Gross), Cathy (Johnny Robinson), Jill Byrd of Spruce Pine, Rebecca (Michael Whitworth), Mary (Dale Sparks), John Gross of Spruce Pine, Paul (Kristy Gross) and Barry (Tammy Gross). She is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
