He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Pitman and Nell Henline Pitman. He is survived by: his brother Mike (Octava); his nephews, Dwayne of San Antonio and Kent of Minneapolis, Minnesota.; his stepchildren, Dean Rainey and Lyndsay Rainey of Spruce Pine; his grandchildren, Kylie, Rylie Beam, Grayson Cantrell and Haylie Rainey; and his siblings, Jo Ann Townsend (Will) of Boone, Tommy Hise (Jennifer) of Covington, GA and Danny Young (Mary) of Marion, NC..
