She was predeceased by: her parents, Woodrow Hollifield and Mary Sue Hollifield; her husband Bob Owens; her son David Sparks; her grandchildren, Aliza Sparks and Justin Hughes; and her brothers, Richard and Dean Hollifield.
She is survived by: her daughters, Candace Sparks of Spruce Pine and Christy Hoilman (Brian) of Spruce Pine; her sisters, Shelba Snipes of Spruce Pine and Betty Calloway (John) of Newland; her grandchildren, Adam Hughes (Breeanna), Brandon Hughes (Alexis McCurry), Jeremy King, Katrina King and Andrew Sparks; and her great grandchildren, Noah, Jacob, Brody, Brooklyn, Winsley and Willow. She is also survived by several nieces and one nephew.
