She is survived by: her parents, David McDowell and Brenda McDowell; her husband Sam Elliott; her children, Stacey Blackwell (Travis), Shelley Raymond (Jean), Sam Jr. and Machelle Wiggins; her godson Sean Elliott; and her brother David McDowell, Jr. (Zandra). She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Viewing was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:55 PM at the Lou Chapel Church. A celebration of life was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Lou Chapel Holiness Church (200 Lous Chapel Rd, Spring Lake, NC 28390).
