She is survived by: her children, Richard Bates (Dawn) of Vancouver, John Bates (Jackie) of Spring Lake, NC, William Bates (Carlene) of Aberdeen, SD, Robert Bates of Vancouver, British Columbia, Stewart Bates (Danni) of Edmonton, Alberta, Kari Keim of Escondido, CA and Shanon Dryer of Ocean Side, CA; and her brother Tom Hughes of Fordyce, AK. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
