He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmie Tyson and Elba Taylor Tyson; and his siblings, Frank Tyson, William "Bill" Tyson and Mary Mathews.
He is survived by: his spouse Glen Tyson; his daughter Lynn Cook (Kenny) of Spring Hope; his grandchildren, Brett Cook of Spring Hope and Holly; his siblings, Clarence Tyson of Spring Hope, Terry Tyson (Linda) of Spring Hope, Tim Tyson (Ann) of Savannah and Annie Manning of Nashville; and his sister-in-law Vada Tyson of Sharpsburg. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family friends and extended relatives.
