He is survived by: his children, Helen Jean Holder (Robert) of Washington, DC, James Napolean Gupton of Killen, TX, Brenda Gupton Harris of Winston Salem, NC, Joseph Sylvester Gupton of Spring Hope, Judy Annette Gupton (William Stackhouse) of Ft. Washington, MD, Joanne Richardson (Eric) of Nashville, Pearl D. Sumnter (Keith) of New Bern, Ricky Alphonzo Gupton of Spring Hope, Daola Marie Wilder (Malcolm) of Greenville and Peggy Diane Holmes (Leroy) of Raleigh; and his brother Jesse Gupton of Spring Hope. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren; several great and great great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
