He was predeceased by: his stepfathers, George Shearin and Mayhall. He is survived by: his parents, John W. Steed (Margie) of Charlotte and Barbara B. Steed of Castalia; his wife Melody; his daughter Melyssa Wiggins (Shane) of Franklinton; his siblings, Harlen Steed (Lisa) of Nashville and Tonja Philbeck (Travis) of Castalia; his grandchildren, Alex Wall and Scarlett Wiggins; his stepbrothers, Jeff Carpenter of Charlotte and Brian Carpenter (Annette) of Salisbury; and his close friend Oreo. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family friends and other extended relatives.
