He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Hope Cooper; his children, Dr. Denise Cooper and David Cooper (Jessica Torres Cooper); his grandchildren, John Dungee, Kristen Dungee, Paloma Cooper and Liliana Cooper; his great grandchild Leighla Dungee; and his siblings, Lela May Ellis and Wilbur Cooper. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
