Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Claiborn Wood of Spring Hope, North Carolina, who passed away at the age of 101, on January 24, 2022. He was predeceased by: his parents, Baylus Cade and Ethel Strickland Wood; and his sisters, Kiva McCarroll and Naomi Long. He is survived by: his wife Mary Leigh Edwards Wood; his children, Barbara Boykin (Mark) of Bailey, Bobby Wood (Cathy) of Spring Hope and Charles Wood of Spring Hope; his grandchildren, Brian Wood (Corie) and Jeromy Wood (Jennifer); his great grandchildren, Blair, Blake, Cade and Addie Grace Wood; his sisters, Rosemary Weant of High Point, NC and Joyce Ham of Wilson, NC; and his caregivers, Lynn Hicks, Darlene Lopez and Kelly Parker. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid, graveside services only will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 at Holly Grove Baptist Church at 11:30 a. m. with the Dr. Benjamin Quinn and Minister Kevin Connor officiating.
