He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Burrell Roberts and Emily Adeline Eckel Roberts; and his close friend Jeanette Brockmeier. He is survived by: his son Chris Roberts (Naomi) of Bostic; his grandchildren, Cavan and Ruthie Roberts; and his sisters, Betsy Candler (Willard) of Weaverville and Susan Ross of Spruce Pine. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
