She was predeceased by: her parents, Michael Harenza and Guida Geneva Hillick of Baltimore; and her brother Edward Glendye Wardell. She is survived by: her husband Jerry Edwards; her daughters, Heather Benfield (Marcus) and Jordon Edwards; her grandsons, Brantley Benfield and Joel Denver Edwards; her sisters, Beverly Phillips (Larry), Barbara Plott (Ron), Sue Hurst (Johnny) and Edna Ruth Grubb (Michael); her mother-in-law Gencie Finney; and her close friends, Darlene Taylor and Eunice Montgomery. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
