He was predeceased by: his father Joe Dobson; and his sister Linda Moody. He is survived by: his wife Patricia E. Irwin; his children, Sandra Irwin Hamlin (Greg) of Roaring River, Melissa Irwin Astle (Kyle) of Ronda and Michael Steven Irwin of Roaring River; his grandchildren, Taylor Irwin of Wilkesboro, Logan Irwin of Roaring River, Aiden Irwin of Elkin and Layla Irwin of Roaring River; his sisters, Shirley Martin of Elkin and Debra Norman (Dollie) of State Road; and his brother-in-law Kenneth Moody of State Road. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins.
