He was predeceased by: his parents, William George Blair, Sr. and Alice May Winser; and his sisters, Betty, Mary and Thelma.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Peg" Blair of Oak Island; his children, William G. Blair, III (Cheryl) of Mineral Bluff, Mark Blair (Connie) of Pittsburgh, Robert Balentine (Christina) of Rancho Cordova and Janice Lejarza (Edward) of Leland; his sister Reta Fagan of Flint, Michigan; his grandchildren, Bethany Ann Blair, William G. Blair, IV, Nicholas Blair, Jacob Blair, Adam Balentine and Joseph Balentine; and his nieces, Val Ehrman and Carrie Smith. He is also survived by married to two of his best friends.
