He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Wesley Adamson Armstrong, Sr. and Ellen Hunt Armstrong; his former wife Barbara Sutcliffe; his children, Nancy, Ellen, Wesley III, Annie and Douglas; his wife Loraine; his grandchildren, Alexandra and Wesley; and his daughter Sue Armstrong (late Dean Armstrong). He was also cherished by brother; and many long-term friends.
