She is survived by: her parent Gladys Batchelor Smith; her daughter Susan Thigpen; and her siblings, Lois Brown of Virginia, Betty Williams of Wilson, Marvin Smith of Kenley, Tim Smith of Roanoke Rapids and Phillip Smith of Wilson. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; and a multitude of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
