She was predeceased by: her parents, Worth Ivey and Bessie Ivey; her husband Herbert Simmons; her daughter Harriett Wilson; and her siblings, Tilman, Horace, Olin, Mildred, Janet, Betty and Carlene.

She is survived by: her son Simmons; her grandchildren, Ronnie Cook (Mary), Kristy Bias (Ben), April Edwards (Jack), Bryan Meekins (Erin) and Jessica Hissey (Eric); and her niece Tina Meekins (Don). She is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
