He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Shupe and Mary Covey Shupe; his daughter Carol Hursell; his sister Marie Wilkins; and his grandson Gregory Shupe.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Ruth Shupe; his children, Linda Makowski (David) of Southport, Terri Ruth (Larry) of Spokane, Washington and Thomas Shupe of Savannah, Georgia; and his siblings, Karen Schafer of South Carolina and Thomas E. Shupe of Florida. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
