He was predeceased by: his father Robert Verdelle Hudson; and his brother John Hudson. He is survived by: his pets, Linda, Zippy, Whimsey and Auggie; his wife Linda Eldridge Hudson; his stepdaughter Jenny Manchester McAllister (Rob); his grandchildren, Abigail and Wade of Asheville; his siblings-in-law, Ken and Peggy Swartzel of Raleigh; his niece Katie Swartzel McGee (Charlie); and his nephews, Paul Swartzel (Ginger) and Gray Swartzel (Ben) of Asheville.
