He is survived by: his parents, Louis C "Corky" Melcher Jr and Joann Ogle Melcher; his siblings, Mary Jo Rogers (David) and John; his niece Candice Melcher; and his close friend Carolyn Oriez. He is also survived by aunt, uncle, numerous cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
