It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leander Cowan of Southport, North Carolina, who passed away on September 12, 2020, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leander was loved and cherished by many people including: wife Cassandra G. Cowan; children, Anthony G. Cowan of Southport and Shannon A. Cowan of Southport; and siblings, Tommy Nixon (Delores) of Norfolk, VA, William L. Holmes (Eva) of Southport, Louis Simmons (Jacqueline) of Conyers, GA, Howard Cowan of Southport, Doris Williams (Paul) of Wilmington, Willie Jean Canty Simmons of Virginia Beach, VA and Maggie Johnson of Hyattsville, MD.
