He was predeceased by: his parents, John Napiecek and Mary Napiecek; his wife Mary Anne; and his brother Thomas. He is survived by: his children, Leslie Alter of San Francisco and Stephen Napiecek of Newport News; and his grandchildren, Andrew, Sarah and Maggie.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John's name to The North Carolina Coastal Land Trust in Wilmington, NC, where he worked during his retirement and was able to combine his love of work, giving and taking care of land and gardens.
