He was predeceased by: his son John Ballantine; his parents, Mary S. Dilsaver and Henry Ballantine, Sr.; his stepfather Floyd Dilsaver; and his sister Marcia Sherrill.
He is survived by: his children, Melissa Kenward (Bob) of Cape Carteret, NC and Rob Ballantine (Elizabeth) of Southport, NC.; his grandchildren, Skyler Walls (Jarrett) of Clayton, NC, Baxter, Lyla, Spencer, Bennett and Gibson Ballantine of Southport; his great grandchild Sawyer Belle Walls; and his siblings, Sue Ballantine Smith (Ed) of Black Mountain, NC, Johnnie Ballantine Farris of Charlotte, NC and Jerry Dilsaver. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
