He was predeceased by: his wife Elisabeth Jane Williams; and his siblings, Richard "Bud" Williams and Jean Gaddis. He is survived by: his children, Linda Hilaman (Brad Hilaman) and Richard Jesse Williams; his grandchildren, Wendi Wheeler, Amy Lubell, Lisa Hilaman Sasser and Joe Hilaman; and his great grandchildren, Mallory Lubell, Brandon Lubell and Adalyn May Sasser.
