He was predeceased by: his wife Sarah Talley Dawson; his father Clifford; his grandmother Burns Dawson; and his siblings, James, Ernest Dawson (Ruby) and Mary Fourtnier.

He is survived by: his children, David Dawson, Sherry Areno (Gene) and Glenda Dawson; his stepsons, Ronnie Fielder (Belva) and Erby Fielder (Carol); and his grandchildren, Drew Mansfield, Levi Dawson, Nathan Fielder, Matthew Fielder, Ronda Mayo, Tracie Hogan and Elizabeth Fielder-Hix. He is also survived by his ten great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, Glenn's family asks that donations be made to Lower Cape Fear Lifecare.
