She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Tillar Pearson and Selma Wood Taylor; and her sister Phyllis Pearson Howell. She is survived by: her husband Jesse Sherwood Howell, Jr.; her daughter Paula Gay Mabe Johnson; her son-in-law Larry E. Johnson; her granddaughter Claire Taylor Johnson; and her sister Selma Pearson Wills. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
