He was predeceased by: his parents, Riley Helms and Elizabeth Helms; his wife Jo Carol Helms; his son Clyde Everette Helms, Jr.; and his brother Clayton Helms.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Overman (Tony) and Darrell Helms (Julie); his sisters, Bessie Sweat (Mac), Dorothy Johnson (Ernie), Helen Shy (William), Sally Leviner and Betty Poole (Wayne); his grandchildren, Chad Dillahay (Natalia), Jessica Dillahay (Mike), William Helms, Joey Helms (Alicia), Brandon Helms (Alison) and Ashley Helms; and his great grandchildren, Lane Dillahay, Dalton Dillahay, Ethan Wood, Emily Wood, Caden Helms and Eli Helms. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
