It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Edward Blake Sr. of Southport, North Carolina, who passed away on April 23, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Cade Blake and Mary Gertrude Downing Blake; his wife Mary Katherine Blake; and his son Christopher "Chris" Blake. He is survived by: his son Charles E. Blake, Jr. (Sherry Howell-Blake) of South Carolina; and his brothers, Thomas Blake (Betty) of Supply, NC, Bill Blake of Wilmington, NC and Ben Blake (Beverly) of Southport, NC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be sent to SECU Hospice House of Bolivia , 955 Mercy Lane Bolivia, NC.

“I have known Charles for most of my life, most recently the last 30 years. I, and my brother Don has as well. He was also friends with my mother who predeceased him in 2008. I have seen him recently and I will miss him greatly. He was always like a second father to me and my brother. Don. We wish him well on his eternal journey. God Bless and keep him forever. “My thoughts are with you Charlie‘s family. I will miss him terribly. I became so fond of him in nine short months. He called me every morning at 5:30. He was quite a character. I wish she been able to drop that last phone call to me. He text me on Sunday night, “I’m in the hospital I’ll call you tomorrow.” I was never able to talk to him again. But I know all about his wonderful family and his right hand man Randy. And that every Wed the brothers had lunch. There will be a void there.”
