We bid farewell to James Robert Simms of Southern Shores, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 23, 2024 at the age of 72. James Robert touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his mother Helen Straub; his stepfather Stoutamyer; and his uncle Thomas Blofeld. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Simms; his son Matthew Simms; his daughter-in-law Kaley Simms; his sisters, Kaye Holcomb and Laura Rhodes; and his grandchildren, Scarlett Simms and Presley Thomas.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at 4050 Hargrove Landing, Suffolk, VA 23435. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home (252 Montvue Dr, Lewisburg, WV 24901).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tunnel to Towers (t2t.org), an organization that supports American Veterans.
