He was predeceased by: his parents, Burkhardt and Nora. He is survived by: his wife Rosa; his daughters, Dr. Anna Scheyett (Steve Lay) of Athens, GA and Juanita McCarron of Albuquerque, NM; and his grandchildren, Nora Simmons (Drew Miller), Amanda Lay-Walters (Sawyer Walters) and Adrian Cheng.
